I left Azeitão, Portugal.


I am In HOLLAND, but no acces to upload pictures over here so just have to look at the place I left.

Setubal

Setubal is a nice city, south of Lisbon( http://lisbon-looks.blogspot.com/ ) over the bridge on the way to the south.
It is not as big as Lisbon but has nice shopping streets without cars. Parking is no problem.Even at this time of the year it is green.

In the walking streets there is still a lot to be seen of old buildings, with old doors and windows, something I love!

Dolphins and other animals in the zoo part 1

First start of with the good job these volanteer youngsters do in the zoo, who get nothing payed but do a good job.

They help to keep the zoo clean, feed the animals and help with the dolphin and sealion shows.

It was also very good that Mr. Silvino Gomes(volanteers, www.zoo.pt) gives these young people a chance to get in contact with animals, work dicipline and other colleges with the same interst

How it all started.

My professional photo carrier started, after I send a picture I took of my son on the beach overlooking the sea,to the only photomagazine at that moment, SUPER FOTO prática

Sr. Carlos Marques invited me to the magazine,they would write an article about me, HOW PROUD I WAS!

This wonderful article gave me the confidence to contact the parenting magazines here in Portugal. The one who responded very fast was Pais & filhos the best in its category.
I want to finish of with my first picture printed in there magazine.

Green

This morning they invited me in flickr, to enter a group everything green. With blue, it is my favorite colour. In my pictures there is a lot of green. It may come from my childhood, I grew up in a area in Holland with many trees.First arriving in Portugal we lived in Paço de Arcos, there is a beach . It was difficult. Flowers, there where not a lot, something else I was used to coming from Holland. I put agrião (Portuguese watercress)in a vase, it was GREEN!

It was her 15th birthday yesterday, how time goes fast!

Big changes, the baby ,small girl, always stuck to mummy. Now is becoming an independent beautiful woman. Starting a new school this year, working at the zoo this summer and going by train to Lisbon.
Yesterday her birthday she went with friends with the bus to the beach.

How proud am I of her, what she is making of her life!

Cats

All my life I was a dog person, as you have seen in the other blog.My daughter wanted a cat some years ago, It took me some time to get used to, it is very different from a dog. Well here arrived our little Tommy, to our home very sweet.

There was just this little problem we have our dog, he is from alentejo not fast, but with cats is something else.
It took some days for him to get used to the idea of an other animal getting attention in the family.

Our Tommy did not live a long life, he got a desease that could not be cured.
I miss him I could never have imagend that.

England-Portugal match

Here we go, what an important match! As I am Dutch we forget the orange disaster, we go strait on to the victory of Portugal, my second home land. I am not going to give any comment about the game because I think whole Portugal has been on tv doing this, before and after the game.
There were some English supporters at our home,
The most were Portuguese supporters who suffered a lot,
But in the end, the VICTORY, on to the next PARTY!
